Troy’s Burger Corner: The Vortex’s Pickle Rick Burger

Hope everyone has been remaining safe and healthy during these tough times! This past week I had dinner at The Vortex in Midtown. This has been a long awaited spot for me considering their 21 and over rule, so safe to say I was a little more excited to try this place than others. Being a huge Rick and Morty fan (adult cartoon show), my eyes were immediately drawn to the “Pickle Rick” burger.… Read More »

Troy’s Burger Corner: Big Al’s Butter Made Burgers

by Troy Anders for The Aha! Connection

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! Obviously, I am limited to take out and delivery for the foreseeable future, so comments about service and restaurant ambiance will be at a minimum for a while. Reviews, however, won’t be as I’m back home and in desperate need of things to do.… Read More »

Atlanta’s Best Burger Battle

Atlanta magazine’s Best Burger Battle returns for 2017 at Lenox Square on Saturday, October 7!

Atlanta’s premier burger cook-off features two dozen of the best local burger restaurants, bourbon, blues, and brews that our city has to offer.

Venkman’s burgers were #1 according to the judges’ and guests’ votes in last year’s competition; who will be the Best Burger Battle 2017 champion?… Read More »

Troy’s Burger Corner: Marlow’s Tavern

I brought a friend with me to Marlow’s Tavern in Dunwoody earlier this week. This summer they have been featuring a seasonal “burgers and brew” menu, so I thought I would head over and check it out. When looking at their regular menu, I noticed they had added a new burger titled the Marlow’s Melt. Instead of getting something off the seasonal menu, I decided to try the melt.… Read More »

Troy’s Burger Corner: Bones

This last week my family and I dined at Bones Restaurant in Buckhead.  It was a very special treat for my birthday.   In addition to being world reknown for their steaks, their “Bones

burger” was ranked the number 1 burger in the city by Atlanta Magazine in 2015. This burger did not disappoint. No odd toppings were included, just your typical lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise-and a really well prepared and cooked burger.… Read More »

Troy’s Burger Corner: Stockyard Burgers and Bones

This past weekend my mother and I went to Stockyard Burgers and Bones in Vinings. They just opened this second location in the Vinings Jubilee Shopping Center.   The service was very slow so it may be a good idea to wait a few weeks until they work out some of the kinks.

All the burgers are made with fresh Certified Angus Beef, cooked “Pink or No Pink” and served on a toasted brioche bun. … Read More »

Troy’s Burger Corner: Illegal Food – Virginia Highlands

Last week I decided to check out Illegal Food, home of the #1 rated burger in Atlanta by Zagat. Although this place had plenty of tasty looking burger options, I came for the headliner: The Hank. This burger is made from house ground dry-age grass-fed beef, American cheese, crisp shredded iceberg, sweet vidalia onion, house made dill pickle, and special sauce.… Read More »

Troy’s Burger Corner: Seven Lamps – Buckhead

Last Friday I went to Seven Lamps restaurant in Buckhead to try their “50/50 burger.”  While searching the internet for a new burger to try, this one caught my eye. Interestingly enough, this one isn’t even on the menu.   I’m not going to lie, I was a little nervous while ordering, but luckily the waiter didn’t act surprised at all at my “off menu” request.… Read More »
