You’ve quite possibly eaten breakfast at Buttermilk Kitchen in Buckhead. If not, you need to go…and soon….but get there early and expect to wait a little while for a table. It is worth the wait…just ask my always hungry teenage boys.
This past Easter, my family friend, Chris Turner, asked me if I’d heard of the Buford Highway Shuffle, knowing my love of Buford Highway. I was immediately intrigued and found the non-profit, We Love BuHi. We Love BuHi’s goal is to strengthen the “multicultural fabric of the Buford Highway corridor through storytelling, special events and advocacy.”… Read More »
Crafthall Kitchen is open in Sandy Springs (the shopping center next to REI and Tiff’s Treats). It is multiple restaurant concepts under one roof. Currently, the options are Fowl and Scratch, a gourmet fried chicken place; Bowl Cookhouse, nutritious ingredients…in a bowl; Urban Sammie, a globally inspired sandwich place; and Salt and Pfeffer, an all day brunch spot.… Read More »
Well, Dunwoody, it appears we skipped Spring and fast forwarded to Summer. The warmer weather usually serves as a reminder that I should get moving since I am about as active as a mushroom, but luckily, I have Press, Blend, Squeeze to help get me back on track. Matt and Nicole, owners of Press, Blend, Squeeze “want to make healthy food and beverage choices easily accessible for everyone, while helping to educate consumers on specific ingredient benefits.”… Read More »
Lauren has been working behind the scenes at The Aha! Connection for about a year as our Instagram Fairy. If you don’t follow us on Instagram yet you should do it now! She has a little more free time on her hands lately so she’s picking up where my beloved Foodie Patty left off and going to start a new column entitled “Lunch with Lauren”. … Read More »
Thank you to all the folks who responded to our “Favorite Chinese Food” Survey. Most of the top choices are located really close to Dunwoody. This tells me that most people probably don’t like to venture too far from home for dinner on a regular basis. However, 9 of the top 20 are located on Buford Highway and all but one of those are practically within the same mile (see map insert). … Read More »
Several friends and acquaintances have reached out to me over the past few weeks telling me I just “had” to try Press, Blend Squeeze. I’ll admit. I was skeptical. I’m not a big Smoothie King fan and I assumed that it was just another one of those smoothie places or like Orange Julius or something.
Foodie Patty loved Bangladeshi and Indian food….heck, she loved food. This article made me think of and long for her. If she were here we would have headed directly to this restaurant today. Actually, she would have known about it well before I read this article so I probably would have already gone there…..

Foodie Patty would LOVE Blue Top and I so wish she had been with me last night when I dined at this great new local restaurant. First of all, I just love the character of downtown Chamblee. Blue Top is nestled about midway in between two of my favorite spots, Union Hill Kitchen and Southbound and just across the street from the railroad tracks. … Read More »
Note from Audra: Check out this great article that Lauren Townsend wrote for Atlanta Parent. Lauren works part-time for The Aha! Connection as our Instagram queen. I think I need to hook her up with Foodie Patty real soon!

Fairly new on our restaurant scene is the Dunwoody Fogo De Chao. The other Fogo in town (Buckhead) has been very successful, so I expect the Dunwoody location will also thrive. … Read More »
Note from Audra: The four closest to Dunwoody are in Alpharetta and Buckhead. But keep in mind we also have a La Grotta and a Capital Grille in Dunwoody too!
Black Walnut Cafe in Peachtree Corners – My family dined here for Easter brunch and loved it. It was shockingly affordable. They save money by a “fast casual” ordering approach. I recommend getting your menu, choosing a table, sitting down to review the menu (it’s expansive and you’ll want time to look it over), then send a person from your group up to the counter to order for the table.
Set in the 4th Ward district for the past year and a half or so is a restaurant that is the hottest ticket in town. I know why. My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Staplehouse for my surprise birthday present several Friday nights ago.… Read More »
