GDOT To Close Abernathy Road, GA-400 Entrance Ramp this weekend

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Georgia Department of Transportation will close a segment of Abernathy Road and the Ga. 400 northbound entrance ramp from the road for the next two weekends in Sandy Springs, the agency said.

Sandy Springs residents exploring running their own school district

A group of parents in Sandy Springs is raising money to study whether the city ought to run its own school district.

Jody Reichel, who is also a city council member, is working with others on the proposal in her capacity as a private citizen.

“Over 50 percent of our tax bill goes to Fulton County Schools, so Sandy Springs paid $134 million last year toward Fulton County schools,” Reichel told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik.… Read More »

  • Overall Graduation Rate of 86.4 is higher than the State of Georgia graduation rate of 81.6.
  • The Hispanic subgroup saw the largest increase in the graduation rate over 2017 with an increase of 12.1.
  • The Asian/Pacific Islander subgroup saw the largest decrease in the graduation rate over 2017 with a decrease of 10.5.
