You Can Help Protect Children from Air Pollution

young-388661_1920Did you know that asthma is the most common chronic condition among children and the #1 reason children in the Atlanta area visit the ER?

Many asthma attacks can be prevented by cleaning up our air, especially by reducing the amount of smog. You can help by joining Mothers & Others for Clean Air in asking the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to lower the amount of ozone pollution (smog) allowed in our air from 75 parts per billion (ppb) to 60 ppb.

Because the current standard is outdated and inadequate, we are asking supporters to send a message urging EPA to put public health first.

The link to send a letter and for more information is http://action.lung.org/site/Advocacy?pagename=homepage&id=6855. The deadline to submit comments is March 17, 2015, and EPA will announce a final decision on or before October 1, 2015.

We appreciate your support on this issue and hope you will share this information with your networks.
