From August 19th through August 22nd, the Dunwoody Nature Center is bringing the butterflies back for the annual Butterfly Experience. Two outdoor butterfly tents, housing hundreds of live butterflies, will be a highlight on the Pollinator Pathway that will lead visitors to stations throughout the park. Guests will learn about all pollinators, enjoy arts and crafts, live music, and spending time in the beautiful 22-acre park.
Every year 100 million monarch butterflies make an extraordinary journey across North America laying eggs and pollinating plants along the way. The Butterfly Experience celebrates this extraordinary migration by educating all ages about the wonders and fragility of our natural environment through butterfly encounters and fun outdoor activities.
Milkweed plants, which provide necessary food for caterpillars and are a beautiful addition to any garden, will be for sale. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
To ensure a safe visit, tent capacity is limited with admission by timed tickets purchased online only. Frequently touched surfaces will be sanitized between butterfly sessions and masks are encouraged inside the butterfly tents.
