With Spring fast approaching, the City would like to remind residents of Brookhaven’s tree ordinance.
A tree removal permit is required to remove any tree greater than 6 inches diameter at breast height (DBH). To determine a tree’s DBH, measure the diameter of the tree trunk at 4.5 feet from the ground.
Tree removal permit applications can be found here, and should be emailed to permits@brookhavenga.gov. Requests should include the application along with documentation showing the location, species and approximate size of all existing trees, noting the trees to be removed.
