Looks like Atlanta Braves second baseman Dan Uggla just scored — on a Sandy Springs mansion.
Uggla paid almost $1.6 million for the mansion, more than 50 percent off the original listing price.
Uggla bought the 14,000-square-foot house at 5350 Riverview Road last month, according to Fulton County records.
The home belonged to former NBA basketball player Derek Anderson, who paid $2.7 million for it in 2005. It was listed for almost $3.3 million “for quite awhile,” said Wes Vawter, owner of The Vawter Group with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty.
Vawter represented the seller. Chase Mizell with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.
The home has “all the bells and whistles,” Vawter said.
Built in 2002, the European-style home has seven bedrooms, a fitness room, sauna and movie theater. Outside, it features a heated pool, outdoor cabana, putting green and basketball court.
It sits on about two acres off Northside Drive, not far from Interstate-285.
“We didn’t have that many sales over two or three million” in 2012, Vawter said. “I think [the sale] indicates the market is improving.”
