Brad Hendrickson Memorial (Photos from Event)

My hubby went to the Brad Hendrickson Memorial ceremony on Monday and gave me a few photos and highlights to share.   I couldn’t attend, but am so glad Kirk was able to go.  Brad was a great mentor and teacher to our son Walt.

DHS Assistant Principal, Andy Jameson, spoke and quoted this speech “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can” as it reminded him of Brad’s “do all you can” attitude.

Eliot Rudnicki is a community coach for the Dunwoody High School (DHS) cross country team and he announced the DHS XC team will be going to the STATE meet this week for the first time in a long time and that the runners will feel lighter because Coach Hendrickson will be with each of them and the wind will be at their backs.

Hendrickson’s wife spoke about how much he loved and wore/rewore his beloved DHS Cross Country t shirts and shoes….she explained he wore them til they had holes in them.

Kirk said the memorial was well attended by over 100 people including students, faculty, and members of the community.

Brad was a man to be admired….and he is missed.

We now have a bench, a tree, and a bronzed pair of Brad’s shoes on the DHS Athletic campus to honor and remember him.
