This book has been atop the best seller list for many years and I finally made time to read it a few weeks ago. It’s a beautifully written, heart breaking page-turner. I was hooked from the beginning and could hardly put it down. After finishing, I contemplated the characters and their decisions for days and days. I discussed with friends who have also read it recently and we all agree that based on the era and the physical location of the setting that we can absolutely see how Tom and Isabel decided keep the baby that washed up on their island. On the flip side, we completely understand that the baby belongs with its biological family. What would you do? Read the book and decide for yourself. This is a good one….
p.s. It is soon to be a major motion picture from Spielberg’s Dreamworks scheduled for release in 2016.
