ATLANTA, GA—This past weekend, local florist and event planning boutique, Blooms of Dunwoody, worked with volunteers from Chesnut’s Wellness Committee to beautify the school’s front entrance by donating new flower beds while migrating existing shrubs into locations where they will grow better.

“We are very excited to contribute to Chesnut Elementary in any way we can,” states Blooms co-owner, Suzanne Conreaux, “Many of our friends and neighbors have children at Chesnut and the parents are so actively involved in volunteerism that it inspired us to want to help too. We were really impressed by school’s environmental stewardship and how the Wellness Committee, the Discovery Program and other school initiatives are working to bring education outdoors.”

Added husband and co-owner, Patrick Conreaux, “We got into this business because we appreciate the way flowers can spark emotion and wonder for people of all ages. Nature has so many botanical treasures. If we can be a part of helping children and adults learn to cultivate these treasures in an environment that fosters learning, caring and nurturing, it’s a no-brainer. Chesnut is exactly the type of community we are proud to support.”

Now celebrating its second year of operation, Blooms of Dunwoody is located in the heart of Dunwoody Village Shopping Center (next to Cutie Pies and Brittany Bridal). And while the name, Blooms of Dunwoody hasn’t been in the Dunwoody Community all that long, its staff has been serving the community for over 25 years.

“I apprenticed for a short while under David at David’s Flowers,” explains Suzanne. “When I learned that David was retiring his store, I approached him and the staff and invited them to join Pat and me in launching a floral design and event planning shop with a new perspective.”

In addition to offering floral arrangements and full-service flower delivery throughout North Atlanta, Blooms of Dunwoody also offers patrons a wide selection of blooming plants and decorative interior gardens.

“We hope people realize we are more than just a cut flower shop,” says Suzanne. “Our mission is to find ways to deliver joy and inspiration through a variety of nature-based gifts and botanicals. And while landscaping is not our core focus, the Chestnut project feeds our passion to get more involved in the community. We happy to be a part of it and look forward to supporting the school for years to come.”
