The cause we are raising money for is TJ’s Friends.
More information on T.J.’s Friends
T.J.’s Friends established in 2010, T.J.’s Friends is a group of student volunteers who have come together as a working committee to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. The specific focus is to partner with The T.J. Martell Foundation, which is a leader in “funding innovative medical research to find cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS”. T.J.’s Friends are committed to philanthropy, leadership and responsibility. These young ambassadors believe that every individual can make a difference no matter how small the contribution and be it through time, money or other resources. http://www.tjsfriends.org
The T.J. Martell Foundation began with a vow that music industry executive Tony Martell made to his 17-year-old son, T.J., who was diagnosed with leukemia in 1973. T.J. wanted to raise $1,000,000 dollars so no one else would have to endure what he had gone through. Throughout the next 2 years, T.J. and his Dad accomplished this goal and T.J. lived longer than expected. Unfortunately, T.J. passed away in 1975 and from that point in time, this foundation was started out of undying love from a father to a son. http://www.tjmartellfoundation.org/
