PCMS Needs YOU!! Are you looking for a significant way to contribute your time and talents to Peachtree Charter Middle School? If you have expertise in budgeting, finance and/or accounting, the PCMS Foundation and the PTCC are looking for volunteers for the next two school years (2015-2016 & 2016-2017). Parents of rising 6th graders welcome!!
Accounting/CPA background preferred. A two year commitment, the role begins as Financial Secretary for the Foundation in the first year and becomes the Treasurer for both the Foundation and the PTCC in the second year. The Financial Secretary coordinates the check-out table at Registration including credit card machines, hosting payment posting event/s ultimately processing all checks, cash and credit card payments made during Registration; deposits funds received throughout the school year on behalf of the Foundation; as part of the Annual Fund campaign, accounts for funds, manages thank you/tax letters to donors, follows up with employers for matching funds; writes checks as needed on behalf of the Foundation; tracks the Foundation’s funding of various projects; and works closely with the Treasurer to develop and monitor the operating budget for the Foundation. The PTCC is looking for a Finance Chair This role is also a 2 year commitment. The Finance Chair works together with the PCMS Foundation Financial Secretary and Treasurer for Registration day processing of checks, cash and credit card payments made during Registration; deposits funds received throughout the school year on behalf of the PTCC; writes checks as needed on behalf of the PTCC; tracks the PTCC’s funding of various projects; and works closely with the Treasurer to support, develop and monitor the operating budget for the PTCC. CV Classic: Fundraiser 5K and 1K running race Date: October 17, 2015
Directory: Compiles student information collected on Registration Day to create and distribute school directory.
Teacher, Staff & Bus Driver Appreciation: Coordinate the welcome back breakfast for teachers and staff in August, Bus Driver Appreciation in the fall, holiday gifts, teacher appreciation luncheon and raffle prizes in the spring.
Team Parent Grade Coordinators: One per grade level. Is a liaison between parents and teachers at that grade level. Coordinators recruit a team parent for each team, to facilitate communication from teachers to parents.
Hospitality: Provides refreshments for rising 6th grade coffees and an occasional meeting as requested by the Principal. Coordinates with the school secretary.
Building Foundations (previously known as Peer Proofing and Drug Awareness) – Assists with drug awareness and character education programs that are presented during health classes.
Book Fair: Coordinates the Scholastic Book Fair in the fall.
Partners in Education: Works with Partners in Education to secure their commitments. Manages the relationships with PCMS’s partners and PCMS chairs of other committees. Educates parents on the various rebate programs and tracks the financial results from these programs.
Front Office Volunteers: Recruit and schedule volunteers to work the front office. Volunteers assist the school secretary, answer phones, greet and direct visitors, assist students and parents, distribute mail and help with miscellaneous office jobs.
Attendance Office Volunteers: Recruit and schedule parent volunteers to work the attendance office. Volunteers assist the secretary and help record student absences, check-in & out students. There are two shifts, a morning shift (8:45 AM-10:00 AM) and lunchtime shift (12:30-1:30 PM)
Public Relations: Submits information to the newspapers, blogs, elem. schools, etc. to publicize our school. Updates front office brochures and newsletters and uses school display cases as needed.
Box Tops: NEED A CHAIR TO ORGANIZE THE CONTESTS -WILL WORK WITH CURRENT CO-CHAIR WHO COUNTS AND SUBMITS THE BOXTOPS.
School Store: NEED A CHAIR OF INVENTORY- WILL WORK WITH CURRENT CHAIR OF SCHEDULING
Patriot Games – (catchy name for field days). Games are 3 consecutive days – one for each grade. Work with PE department to get volunteers, pizza and treats.
