On April 5th Piedmont Park will be filled with Persian music, art, history and of course, the presence of Iranian restaurants for a taste of its delicious food.
The first Atlanta Persian Festival will bring this 5000-year old civilization to Piedmont Park on April the 5th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Expecting about 5000 visitors, it will feature over 20 vendors showing everything from films to live concerts of Persian pop music, as well as traditional music and dance with the goal of promoting the Iranian culture among our Atlanta community, and to tell the story about who Iranians really are. Admission is free and it will give the general public the chance to enjoy the feeling of taking a tour of Iran, just by walking through the park looking at paintings and screen images, tasting delicious gourmet dishes and pastries, and listening to live sounds of Persian music.
Iranians have become an integral part of the Atlanta community and the festival will have a representation of Iranian professionals of every sector offering a great opportunity for networking. Anyone interested in art will love the Persian rugs, paintings and other objects brought in by local businessmen who are eager to show the beauty of their home land. A free booklet with the Festival’s program and different information about Iran and its culture will be available for the general public.
The proceeds of the Festival will go to Georgia Tech to support the Persian language program. The organizers are hoping this festival will become an annual event to support other community cultural activities.
