Apple users were the target of the first known ransomware attack against Macs over the weekend.
The “KeRanger” malware appeared on Friday, Palo Alto Networks Threat Intelligence Director Ryan Olson told Reuters. The hackers infected Macs through a tainted copy of Transmission, a program used to transfer data through the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing network.
