I want one of these! Love this idea and am so glad my little brother told me about it! Maybe somebody needs an idea for an Eagle Scout project?!
What is a Little Free Library?
It’s a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share. You can, too!

Just fyi – the Picayune Toy Store has a “take a book / return a book” outside of their store.
A Facebook friend of mine has or uses a little free library. I could put you in touch with her.
There is one in the Mill Glen neighborhood on Martina Dr. I don’t know who “owns” it, but I have seen people using it. Cool idea!
A neighbor and I, just last night, talked about the same – setting up one here in our neighborhood. Let’s do it! Little local libraries throughout Dunwoody…..
And, if I can work it out, I am going to add a magazine recycle/exchange to the library for parents.
Jeff Coghill who writes the garden column in The Dunwoody Crier builds them. Contact him for info..
A woman in my parent’s neighborhood built one and had had great success with hers. I can put you in touch with her via Facebook if interested .
One of my best friends and her husband just put theirs up a few months back in Decatur. I have seen it for myself and it is adorable. They are lovely people and would be happy to talk with you!
I too read that article about the little free library and have been trying to convince my high school student to initiate this idea at her school.
I have a couple of Scouts who would like to consider this for Eagle. I’ve long been interested in this, we even talked about putting one up at the nature center.
Kristine- I’m very interested. Please connect me with them so I can ask! ~Audra
