Fall is here so it is time to take a look at Fall 2015 nail colors! Okay, so I have to report my findings accurately, but this first trend pains me………At New York Fashion Week bare nails were making a statement:( I am really hoping that here in Dunwoody we can squash that trend!!! Now that I have that upsetting news out of the way, let’s look at color! There are a lot to choose from, and I have tested them all, so here goes:
Over the Moon by Butter London. This was a late entry brought to me by a very on-trend friend and has proven to be a real staple. This is the perfect light to medium grey. You might be tempted to paint the walls in your home this color as well. It goes with everything and is truly the season’s best neutral that has major flare. I really love this brand; while you are picking up this product, go ahead and pick up “Scrubbers” as well. These are nail polish remover towelettes that nourish nails and cuticles and prep for the next color!
Cadet Green by Burberry. This shade gives a nod to the Camo look. I was skeptical, but I tried it and really like the results. It is much more neutral than I originally thought and went nicely with all my fall outfits; it provided a little edge! This was my first time using this brand of polish, which is relatively new to the cosmetic world. It went on nicely and the brush is wide making applying easy. It kept it’s shine and stayed on with minimal chipping.
Leggy Legend by Essie. This is very different from most shades I am drawn towards. It is a metallic gold, but goes on somewhat unassuming. I did not feel like I had gold spray paint on my hands and it was surprisingly refreshing. Normally shades like this are reserved for the holidays and more specifically a holiday party, but this was a great everyday look that I am excited about.
Gelato on My Mind by OPI. When I first saw this in the OPI Fall/Winter Venice Collection, I was confused as I felt it to be more of a Spring/Summer look, but after trying it, I will be wearing it all Fall! I especially liked it with black or red outfits.
Frock ‘n’ Roll by Essie. This color goes on really dark – darker than the bottle depicts. It has a nice sheen to it and slightly changes color as it catches the light. I would say this is the updated version of the classic “Lincoln Park after Dark.” Really dark polishes like this definitely have their place and this is a great updated look. After a summer of light and bright colors, do not be afraid to try this color, especially for an evening out on the town.
Plumberry by Essie. We have been focusing so much on all the statement colors, but we cannot forget about a really great pinky red when you just need a happy classic color. I like this one because it is a pleasant hue that just makes you feel good about a fresh manicure. You could wear this all week with pink or red outfits, it goes both ways!
Cannot wait to see all of these awesome colors around town. Ready, set…go get your nails done!
