The Dunwoody Police Department is holding the next Avoid Deny Defend™ C.R.A.S.E. (civilian response to active shooter events) class on Thursday, May 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Dunwoody United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall. The class covers basic immediate actions, strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. This national course gives civilians knowledge and confidence to survive an active shooter attack whether at work, church, the movie theater, an open retail environment or anywhere else. It is not intended to frighten, but to empower and strengthen the ability to survive. This free class is open to the entire community, although participants must pre-register at https://dunwoodycrase2.eventbrite.com .
