Act3 Productions and The Metropolitan Atlanta Theater Awards will present Sondheim on Sondheim, an intimate musical featuring new arrangements of the works of Stephen Sondheim, known as the father of the modern musical. Originally conceived and directed by Sondheim’s friend and collaborator, James Lapine, the show uses exclusive interview footage, providing the audience w/an inside look at the famed composer.
The show runs July 2 through 18 (no show July 4) and tickets are available at www.act3productions.org.
Act3 has gathered some of the Atlanta area’s finest singer/actors for this production, which benefits the Metropolitan Theater Awards. This is a once in a lifetime chance to see these talented singers together on one stage. Sondheim’s works include Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, and Assassins, to name a few. He has been honored with eight Tony Awards, an Oscar, and a Pulitzer Prize.
