A Note From Chesnut Charter ES School Principal Response to Dunwoody Village Apartment Fire Victims

Dear Chesnut Families and Community Supporters:

As I sit down to write this note, I am reminded of a quote by Helen Keller: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for the outpouring of support you have shown the Blaise and Roach families in these days following the tragic fire that destroyed their homes and their belongings.

This morning I was joined by Ms. Quintans and Ms. Eckard representing the PTC and Ms. Sadler and Mr. Pryor, representing the faculty and staff, as we delivered to the families more than $5000 in gift cards, as well as a substantial collection of clothing and toys.

It has been completely heartwarming to see the strong shower of support from Chesnut families, faculty and staff. In addition, we saw individuals from subdivisions feeding into other Dunwoody schools show up to Chesnut with contributions, and friends, families and others throughout Dunwoody, metro Atlanta and other states who heard about this terrible misfortune also contributed generously.

Once again, thank you. Please stay safe and enjoy a happy new year.
