Region 1 Enrollment Data
**Updated with correct Sequoyah Middle School Data

The DCSD Planning Department has released its 2015-2016 School Enrollment Data: http://www.dekalb.k12.ga.us/planning

A few of my thoughts:

Dunwoody Cluster:
All schools, with the exception of Kingsley (loss) and Vanderlyn(even), saw an enrollment increase over 2014.  I believe, however, some of Kingsley’s Special Education students were moved to Dunwoody ES (someone correct me if I am wrong).

Chamblee Cluster:
Ashford Park ES has seen a decrease in enrollment over 2014, while Huntley Hills ES stays even.  Montgomery ES saw an increase in enrollment. Huntley Hills is at 92% capacity and Montgomery is 109% capacity.  Perhaps some re-drawing of lines there?  Yeah, I know the answer to that.

Both Chamblee Middle School and Chamblee High School have seen an increase in Resident Attendees over 2014.  Maybe we can start seeing residents begin to go back to these 2 schools.  I have heard some positive comments with regards to the new Chamblee High principal, so maybe a step in the right direction.

Cross Keys Cluster:
Wow! I was totally shocked at what I am seeing here.  Yes, we know the cluster is overcrowded, but there are approximately 1,200 cluster students attending other DCSD schools! The next data I will be looking at what other schools these students are attending – in schools within the CKHS cluster or other school clusters/charter schools.
