Let me explain about Hoot & Ollie – It’s an interactive book created by two Dunwoody dads. (I just love this local stuff!) There’s an adorable book with a really fun Halloween story plus several options for YARD Art. You can buy “ready to hang” art or purchase “kits” to paint and decorate with your family!
I’ve ordered a book and some “ready to hang” yard art and hope to have it displayed prominently before the weekend is over!
Here’s the fun part for the AHA! Subscribers: Hoot & Ollie are giving away 5 kits to Aha! Subscribers- details regarding how to win will be sent to The Aha! Connection later today!
The winning kits include:
- A book
- A birch plywood Hoot the Owl
- A birch plywood Ollie the Ghost
- Kid friendly white & brown paint
- Brushes
- Halloween hanging string.
- Metal stake for ground/pumpkin applications
These plywood characters once painted will stand a season outdoors and if more than 1 coat of paint is applied, they will last for several Halloween seasons outside. We supply the base paint but of course, one can add any artist enhancements you or your kids want to. That’s all part of the idea, to allow kids to express themselves in whatever way they want to around some traditional Halloween character types. And of course, the story adds to the imagination! Once decorated, these characters can hang from a door knocker, tree, mailbox etc or, using the metal stake can be pushed into the ground, a pumpkin or hay bail. )We have stock of most items that can be delivered in time for Halloween!)
Here’s an intro to the story: It was the night before …….. And Ollie has misplaced his ‘Boo’. “No Biggie” you might say. However, Halloween cannot start until Ollie issues the first official ‘Boo’ of the Halloween season in front of the council of ghosts. It is very simple, a ghost with no ‘Boo’ cannot do any ‘Tricks’, No tricks means no ‘Treats’ and no treats can only mean one thing ‘No Candy’. Halloween with ‘No Candy’? Thatis ridiculous, we will just have to go ahead and cancel Halloween for this year, Oh dear ….. And that is how the adventures of ‘Hoot & Ollie’ started. Click here to read more of the story!
