The survey results are in! In my humble opinion, sometimes these surveys are more of a popularity contest and not necessarily about the quality of the food. Things like location, family friendliness, price specials and cool atmosphere factor in to our decisions. I so appreciate all of you who took the survey and am especially thankful for those of you who took the time to write in about places I’ve never heard about. I’m not sure what it says about me, but I’ve eaten at 18 of the 23 places listed below! Yes, Mexican is my favorite food and I do love a good margarita! I, for one, shall try Buzy Burrito within the week!
Following are the survey winners:
- Los Rancheros
- Other (see below for details about the write in candidates)
- La Botana (This is Audra’s local fave. Tacos de Carne Asada – Delicioso!)
- Pure Taqueria
- El Azteca
- Chuy’s and Verde Taqueria (Tied for 6th)
- Uncle Julio’s
- Tin Lizzy’s
- Los Bravos (in Brookhaven near Blackburn Park – an old Anders Family Fave similar to Los Rancheros)
- El Rey Del Taco (a Foodie Patty fave)
- Tijuana Joes
Now for the details about the “write ins”. The sum total of write ins was enough to land them in the #2 spot but the most popular write ins are # 1-3…the rest were onsie twosies.
- Buzy Burrito Taqueria
- Taqueria del Sol (Fairly new to our area in the Chamblee Whole Foods Shopping Center)
- Superica (A definite fave of mine with the closest location being on Roswell Road in Buckhead near Johnny’s Hideaway)
- Panchos on Buford Highway (I ate here so often in my twenties! Love the back deck!)
- Huey Luey’s in Sandy Springs
- Bartaco
- Taqueria del Mar in Peachtree Corners
- The El Felix (Avalon and the Battery- they have an amazing salad that I love!)
- Red Pepper Taqueria (In Buckhead now. Coming soon to Town Brookhaven)
- El Habanero on Spalding Drive
- Takorea (I wouldn’t really call this Tex-Mex, more like Mex-Kor but it is delicioso)
- Jaliscos
- Las Tortas Locas
- Nuevo Laredo Cantina (an old, old, fave of mine in South Buckhead)
