Recycling Container Changes Effective September 11, 2017, the DeKalb County Sanitation Division will no longer offer 18-gallon bins and 40-gallon bags. They will have a medium and a large sized rolling cart. Note from Audra: I called and asked whether we are supposed to bag our recyclables or just throw them loosely into the rolling carts. The answer: Throw them loosely into the carts. No bags needed. They also told me if I wanted to get rid of my small blue container to just leave it out empty with the recycling one week.
