Dunwoody, GA – On Saturday, April 29, The Dunwoody Nature Center celebrated the return of Monarchs & Margaritas with an upscale casual party in the heart of its meadow. More than 400 guests enjoyed a warm (and dry!) evening on the grounds of the Dunwoody Nature Center during the center’s annual fundraiser. Guests were entertained with music by Wesley Cook, eight different tapas stations catered by Alon’s, and, of course, plenty of margaritas and mojitos. The evening was sponsored by Oldcastle and SCUF Gaming and raised more than $100,000 for the Nature Center; including an amazing $14,000 for scholarships for Title I schools to attend field trips at the center. The annual Dave Adams Award, the Nature Center’s highest honor, was presented to the Hightower Trail Boy Scouts in recognition of the years of Eagle Scout projects that have enhanced the park. The evening also featured auctioneer Christie King of CK Benefits, who kept the bidding lively during the silent and live auctions. One lucky guest was the winner of the trip of a lifetime during the luxury vacation raffle. The Raffle winner will be able to choose from one of three trips: Bali’s, Scottsdale (AZ) for golf, and California Wine Country.
All proceeds from the event will go towards the programs and park improvements of the Nature Center.
