Brookhaven, GA, April 24, 2017 – by Anna Williams for The Post – The Historic Brookhaven Neighborhood Association and several community residents are working on a book featuring the early homes of Historic Brookhaven – those built in 1942 or earlier. And, at last, the book has made its way to the printer after many years of efforts by several residents, efforts that formally started with the financial support of the Historic Brookhaven Neighborhood Association, as well as many local businesses.
The Historic Brookhaven Neighborhood is the only neighborhood in the city of Brookhaven designated on the National Register of Historic Places. Having been planned in 1910 around what was to become the Capital City Club golf course, the neighborhood is recognized as the first planned golf community in the Southeast.
