Braves opening day is tomorrow so what better time for me to provide you with the second article in my series about SunTrust Park!
The biggest concerns I hear from Braves fans are all about “getting there and finding a place to park”. Admittedly when I toured a few weeks ago the park wasn’t full, there was still MUCH road construction nearby, all lots were not open and the I-85 bridge was still intact. Even so, Troy and I were disappointed at how long it took us to park once we turned onto Circle 75 Parkway. We’re both smarter now and can help you!
We parked in the Delta Lot. Once we stepped out of the car we were thrilled to be seconds from the 3rd base gate. We were to meet our hostess by the “Delta Wing”. Which turns out to be a HUGE real life Delta Airplane Wing and is most likely going to be a popular landmark for meeting friends. We noticed that the orange lot was also close by and next to the new Coca-Cola Roxy. If you review the official Braves parking map you’ll see that there are several lots, varying distances from the stadium, mostly with Braves shuttle access. If you are driving, I’d suggest studying the parking maps and purchasing parking in advance.
If driving, I’d also suggest you download the Waze App. If you prefer to be driven, download the Uber app. The Braves have gone techie and partnered with both Waze and Uber.
Troy and I used Waze, input the 1100 Circle 75 Pkwy SE address and it took is straight there. When Troy returned with a friend a week later for the Yankees Exhibition game, he tried Uber. Traffic was heavy and the Uber driver dropped him a little further away than he would have liked. However, he was most anxious about finding an Uber for the return ride home and reported to me that “it was so easy”. He just followed the signs to the Uber Meeting Spot (across from the Roxy). He requested an Uber through the app, showed his confirmation number to the first driver in line and voila…he was on his way back to Dunwoody.
Another techie “must have” is the Braves Ballpark Official SunTrust Park app. I used it to download tickets and get merchandise discounts. You can also access Waze and Uber through the Ballpark app plus maps, directories, WiFi a family guide and so much more.
I can hardly wait to go back. When I do, I think we will probably go early via Uber to avoid sitting in traffic. We will eat at the Ballpark (more on that in my next article) and then catch an Uber back home. Must finish high school baseball before I can see the Braves again though! Go Wildcats!

Audra: How much was the Uber each way?
Exit 285 West at Powers Ferry/Northside Drive…one exit before Cobb Parkway. Saves you at least 15 mins. from Dunwoody. Cobb Pkwy. exit is a total nightmare. Returning home go back towards Windy Hill exit and take all surfact streets, Mt. Vernon Hwy. back to Dunwoody. Getting out of park not fun.
It was $18 there and about $12 back.
We actually went on Sunday as a last minute Easter surprise. We left about 90 minutes before game time and it took about about 25 minutes from Dunwoody to our parking place. We parked in the parking garage at 900 Circle 75 and paid about $30. There is a pedestrian bridge adjacent to that parking lot and we walked safely over the busy street into The Battery. Once the game was over we stopped for a quick bite at Antico and by the time we finished eating the traffic was already easily navigable and we trekked down Powers Ferry and wound our way to Mt. Vernon without even having to get on the Interstate. It was a breeze!
