Douglas Cameron will open the 2017 season on Mother’s Day. Cameron performs hits of the Big Band Era with a blend of swing and charisma like no other. In July, the summer heat brings Kinchafoonee Cowboys, a classic country band whose popularity spread in Athens while several of the members attended UGA. The Cowboys are favorites around the state of Georgia and have shared billing with entertainers such as Alabama, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, Dave Matthews Band, and many others.
Atlanta-based Rupert’s Orchestra will bring the club to Sandy Springs in August. This twelve-piece dance band was formed in 1987 to open Rupert’s Nightclub in Atlanta, and played to packed houses for over eight years. Rupert’s is comprised of some of the finest talent from around the nation. At the core of the group is a driving rhythm section, accented by fiery horns and an explosive Latin percussionist. The band is fronted by four unique vocalists. With a wide-ranging repertoire, the Rupert’s Orchestra performs everything from Top 40 hits to Motown and Classic Rock.
The 2017 Concerts by the Springs series will close out on September 10 with The Tams, who have been entertaining and thrilling audiences for over 40 years.
