An area father of young children is fighting Leukemia. Blood transfusions are a regular and sustaining part of his current treatment regimen. The transfusions prop up his platelet and and blood cell counts. Northside Hospital has had to call the Red Cross and other Atlanta-area hospitals to ask for AB+ platelets.
