Many parents selecting an independent school for their child’s education want to find one close to home. A short commute for drop-offs and pickups is a top concern.
But what if the school they like the most for their child is located 15 or 20 miles from home? To ease the traffic burden, a number of independent schools offer a private bus service with multiple stops around metro Atlanta. While the buses cost parents an additional fee, many parents find the service to be well worth the expense. Below is a list of some of the Atlanta-area schools with private buses:
Greater Atlanta Christian School (Norcross): 11 routes, some with more than one stop; four stops in Dunwoody
St. Martin’s Episcopal School (Brookhaven): two stops in Dunwoody
Wesleyan School (Peachtree Corners): morning service only, six stops total, two in Dunwoody
Woodward Academy (College Park): 29 routes, some with more than one stop; 400 students ride MARTA and the school picks up from the local station
