“Dunwoody is a close-knit community that cherishes its assets,” explained Dunwoody City Councilman Terry Nall. “We knew this this archery equipment was being used to teach motivation and self-confidence.”

The fundraising effort was prompted by the theft of seven bows from the school’s gym in May.

Chesnut’s archery program was started using a grant from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

It’s supported by the National Archery in the Schools Program, which provided 50 percent of the initial funding after The Friends of Chesnut Foundation, Inc. decided to start the program for students in fourth and fifth grades.
