This book is for those of you who liked Gone Girl and Girl on the Train.   My friend Marcy texted me on Thursday afternoon with this exact note:
Thinking of you…reading a book I can’t put down.  I Let You Go.   Really need to work….
Needless to say I downloaded immediately.   I just love a book that you can’t book down!  I started it Saturday and woke up early to try and finish on Sunday morning.  When I got to “Part 2”  I sent Marcy the following text:
“I could avoid all human contact to finish this book today.  I’m half way through and it is impossible to put down!”

I couldn’t finish before Sunday’s baseball game and I found myself angry at the other parents on Walt’s team for wanting to talk to me while I was trying to read before his game started so I had to stuff the book in my bag and wait until later.
When we arrived home from the game I put the family on notice that I would cook dinner AFTER I finished the book.  Thankfully I finished around 7.

Loved the book…loved the ending…I was expecting a twist but didn’t figure it out too soon.  I’m not even going to tell you what it is about in fear that I’ll mess up the twist.  Just know that if you like psychological thrillers you need to get this book!

Here are a few reviews from Amazon:

“Chilling, compelling, and compassionate.”-Paula Hawkins, #1
New York Times bestselling author of The Girl on the Train
“A wonderfully layered thriller that skillfully builds from that one tragic event. It makes a good match for fans of Sophie Hannah and Erin Kelly.”-
Library Journal (starred review)
“An intense psychological thriller…[that] revels in surprises and twists…Outstanding.”-The Associated Press

Have you read it?  I’d love to know your thoughts!

  1. YES I read this book a couple of weeks ago and loved every minute!! It is definitely a great read. Such an unexpected twist…can’t say more!!

  2. Thanks for the recommendation! I loved both of the otger books you mentioned so I can’t wait to get this one!!

  3. Upon your suggestion I read “I Let You Go.” I got the audiobook, actually and have to say that I was pretty much useless the majority of the weekend – even “watched” the NBA Final on mute. No, seriously. I also heard myself yelling out loud – that is how engrossed I became in the characters. Thank you for the recommendation! I can’t say more for all the same reasons but would certainly highly recommend, especially for those who enjoyed “Gone Girl” and “The Girl on the Train” (two books I also found myself yelling out loud at the one or other character whilst reading!).
