Dunwoody police are looking for volunteers to join the city’s new Citizens on Patrol program to help officers with the responsibilities of monitoring the community.
Dunwoody police spokesman Mark Stevens said in a news release Monday that the program volunteers will be able to immediately notify officers about suspicious activities and ongoing crimes. The volunteers will also be performing non-enforcement actions such as house checks when residents are on vacation.
Police will give the volunteers a pair of khaki pants and a polo shirt to be worn as a uniform.
Stevens says an information session about the program will be held at the police department on June 21 at 7 p.m.
