Second Helpings Atlanta, Inc. (SHA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose vision is to eliminate hunger and food waste in the 5 county Metropolitan Atlanta area by rescuing surplus food and delivering it to those in need. With a team of 400+ volunteer drivers, SHA serves as the link between our network of over 50 donors and the front-line agencies who feed the hungry on a daily basis. We depend on volunteers to help us in our fight against hunger and saving food from landfills. The time you donate will go a LONG way towards helping families in Atlanta get the nutritious food they so desperately need. Picking up and delivering food donations generally takes about 90 minutes of time. Many of our volunteers only pick up once each month while others handle multiple pick-ups. We also have families and friends that volunteer together. It should be noted that most of our routes occur seven days a week during morning hours (between 7:30 – 10:00 a.m.). We are currently seeking drivers to pick up from a grocery store off of the East/West Connector. The days we have available are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The pick up window is from anytime between 8:30 – 10 AM, each of these available days. Each day delivers to a different location. This is a large donation, and requires two drivers each week, and both drivers should have large vehicles (SUV/Mini Van preferred). Please contact for more details. All SHA routes require a training first. Volunteers must have a valid drivers license. Drivers use their own personal vehicles to transport food. Teens & Families Welcome!
