The 14th Annual Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs Day Kicks off April 16
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (March 2, 2016): Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs Day (VBSS), an annual, community-wide service day sponsored by Leadership Sandy Springs (LSS), returns on Saturday, April 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with volunteers lining up to enhance the city through hundreds of volunteer service hours. The program of giving back has grown over the years as more sponsors and volunteers have stepped up to the plate to provide funding, materials, and labor to make improvements to 21 local nonprofit organizations, government establishments and public schools. Valued at over $425,000 in upgrades to our community, VBSS Day has become an essential and reliable service that continues to benefit and support Sandy Springs and embodies the vision of LSS. Kickoff for the event, which will take place rain or shine, begins at North Springs Charter High School at 7447 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, with breakfast provided to registered participants, and Mayor Rusty Paul in attendance to inspire and personally thank volunteers. The first 500 participants will receive a free VBSS Day T-shirt! Following the kickoff, volunteers will disperse to one of the work sites. Registration has begun and volunteers can sign up via the online form on the LSS website. Membership in LSS is not a requirement for participation. Work tasks will include landscaping, painting, carpentry, organization and general clean-up projects.
