Dunwoody Police ticketed the driver of an 18-wheeler Jan. 29 for running a red light that led to a crash on Chamblee Dunwoody Road.
The accident happened Friday morning. According to Dunwoody Police, the 18-wheeler was traveling north on Chamblee Dunwoody Road and was approaching the intersection of North Shallowford Road when the driver apparently ran a red light and collided with a sedan that was traveling south on Chamblee Dunwoody Road.
The two occupants of the sedan were transported to a hospital with back and chest pains, said Dunwoody Police spokesman Sgt. Aaron Belt. “Both the driver of the sedan and the passenger of the sedan were conscious, alert and breathing,” he said.
The impact of the crash pushed both vehicles onto Peeler Road, Belt said.
The truck crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle causing the door to be stuck. DeKalb County Fire & Rescue was called to the scene to cut out the 79-year old male sitting in the passenger seat out of the sedan. Click here for the full story and other photos at The Dunwoody Reporter
