CassandraYoungPhoto_BigThankYou-_012-copyThe Bert Show’s Big Thank You campaign has reached its goal of providing every service person deployed outside the United States with a handwritten Thank You letter on Thanksgiving Day. The annual effort exceeded expectations this year by collecting over 189,000 letters from 43 states, enough for every troop from locations all across the United States. On Monday, November 9th just days before Veteran’s Day, the United States Postal Service picked up all of the Big Thank You letters received from all over the nation to deliver to the troops overseas. All The Hits Q100’s morning radio show kicked off their 6th annual “Big Thank You” campaign this fall, in an effort to give thanks to all the men and women that serve our country. Since its inception, The Bert Show’s “Big Thank You” campaign has collected more than one million handwritten letters. School systems, corporations and celebrities across the country have shown their support by writing personalized letters and encouraging students, customers and fans to do the same. The campaign has received letters from all over the United States, as well as Puerto Rico and Spain, including some letters written in Chinese and braille. The Bert Show has even received calls from First Lady Michelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton, congratulating them on the “Big Thank You” campaign’s overall success in previous years. “We are so excited to reach our goal for this year’s Big Thank You campaign” says Bert Weiss, host of The Bert Show. “I would really like to thank every single person who participated in this year’s campaign, making it possible to reach our goal and provide a handwritten letter of thanks to every service person deployed overseas.” For more information on The Bert Show’s Big Thank You campaign, please visit www.thebigthankyou2015.com.
