Hello readers, I am finally back. I do apologize for the long break between articles, I’ve been very busy with school. I have missed eating burgers probably more than y’all miss reading about them so don’t worry, more reviews are coming. This past weekend a friend and I went to The General Muir at Emory point shopping center. Being basically an Upscale New York deli, it surprised me when I learned that they had a highly recognized burger. I’ve actually been to this restaurant before, not even realizing that they had a burger on the menu. Nonetheless, internet research taught me that they had a pretty good one so I decided to come back and give it a try. Titled “The Burger” it is topped with Gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, crispy pastrami, Russian sauce, pickles, and served with a side of fries. Obviously, the crispy pastrami is intriguing and sounds quite yummy, and the taste confirmed that. The only problem was that there wasn’t enough of it. If more pastrami was added, this burger could probably be ranked a point or so better. The rest of the burger was solid, tasting and appearing very similar to other upscale Atlanta restaurants with highly recognized burgers (Holeman and Finch/Bocado). This trending style of burgers that nicer restaurants have seem to adopted (two thin and oniony patties with pickles, cheese, fancy bun) will always taste pretty good, but will also always have a low ceiling to me. The addition of the pastrami improves, which is why this one is a notch over the other restaurants with a similar burger.
