Dunwoody City Council on Sept. 15 voted to paint parking spaces along Vermack Road at Dunwoody High School.
Councilwoman Lynn Deutsch said this year’s freshman class is almost double the number of current seniors and many students participate in after school activities or have part-time jobs.
“There are no activities buses,” she said, so more students have to drive to high school.
While parallel parking had always been legal on Vermack Road, striping makes for a safer and more orderly environment, Police Chief Billy Grogan said.
