The Georgia Department of Transportation is asking drivers to avoid non-essential travel on Interstate 285 during the June 12 weekend due to projects that will likely cause delays. Construction delays are also possible in other areas around Atlanta.
Several projects will require lane closures, GDOT said in a prepared statement.
Planned work includes:
“The traveling public is encouraged to call 511 or consult 511ga.org before departing for realtime information on work status and traffic conditions,” the agency says.
