Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Russell McMurry to Discuss I-285/400 Interchange and Transportation Updates at Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce’s June Membership Luncheon
Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Russell McMurry will discuss the impact of the I-285 and 400 interchange and other transportation issues at the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce June Membership luncheon on Tuesday, June 23rd at Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center, located at 246 Perimeter Pkwy. The luncheon will take place from 11:30am to 1pm.
A presentation will also be made by the Perimeter Community Improvement District about the I-285/400 interchange.
Russell McMurry was appointed Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation by a unanimous vote of the State Transportation Board on January 20, 2015. Prior to being named Commissioner, he was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal as Planning Director. He had served as Chief Engineer since January 1, 2013, where he was responsible for the Divisions of Engineering, Construction, Operations, Intermodal, P3/Innovative and Program Delivery, as well as the Offices of Organizational Performance Management and Engineering Services. He previously served as the Division Director of Engineering.
Commissioner McMurry began his career with the Georgia Department of Transportation in 1990, as an engineering trainee, and has served in a variety of roles throughout his career. His experience ranges from serving as Construction Project Manager to District Engineer for 5 years. At the State level, he served as State Roadway Design Engineer, while also serving in a joint role as the Assistant Division Director of Engineering. Commissioner McMurry is a Cum Laude graduate of Georgia Southern University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia.

The cost to attend is $40 per person for Chamber Members and $50 per person for non-members. Registration includes a plated meal prepared by the Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center. Those wishing to attend must register online by visiting www.dunwoodycommerce.org. Registration will end on Sunday, June 21 at midnight, no walk-ins will be accepted, and no refunds will be given. Payment is required by credit card at the time of registration. Attendees may begin arriving at 11:30am; the program will begin promptly at 11:50am.
