French Students Need Homes
July 10 – July 31, 2015
• This is a “total immersion program.” There are no group activities. The main duties of host families are to provide students with meals, lodging and family interaction.
• Host families receive 2 Six Flags tickets (and 1 for the student) and a small $ stipend
• No experience necessary
• These students are visiting to experience American family life (and Atlanta culture) and to improve their English
• Host families do not have to plan activities (although the students do appreciate getting to experience some Atlanta-specific activities). Simple day-to-day experiences are fine (shopping, cooking, hikes, church activities, swimming, family gatherings, etc.). Whatever you would normally do with your family, include your French student.
• Although it is helpful, host families do not have to know how to speak French (the students speak English)
• French students MAY travel with host families out of town.
• Only one French student is allowed per home
• Assistance and communication from the French chaperone AND American coordinator provided throughout the visit
• Ideal for families with one stay-at-home parent and other kids or teens (but not required)
• Single adults with no children may not host a student, sorry
• Private room not required. Each student may share a bedroom with another teen but must have his or her own bed (no couches, cots, futons, or sleeping bags)
• French students bring their own spending money AND are fully insured medically
