An Aha! Style Moment: Eyebrows!

No more waxing our brows girls…………the full, “feathered”, brow is back. Our brows naturally thin out with age, so the years of waxing can leave you with no brows (especially, for those of us that are over 40)! The benefits of a fuller brow are that it frames the face and camouflages puffiness, making us look younger. This process is not easy if you are an addicted waxer…it could take 8-12 months for the “grow out” period. But it is worth it! On the advice of Ayshen at Riley Salon in Dunwoody, I began growing out my brows one year ago (Ayshen stays really current on cutting edge beauty trends). I visited her about every two months and she would shape them, but not thin them, and she did not wax them. I am very happy with the results and can now “style” my brows a few different ways. For a nighttime look, I can fill in my brows with a pencil, which creates a more dramatic look, then brush them up for a nice feathered look. For daytime, the easiest way to style fuller brows is with “Gimme Brow“, by Benefit. It is sorta like mascara for the brows and comes in several different colors. A friend of mine that is not “product obsessed” like myself wanted something quick and easy to define her brows, she said with “Gimme Brow” mission accomplished! Brows are becoming big business! If you want to really go for it, you can have a brow tint that can last up to 4 weeks. There are also “Brow Rehab” kits for sale by several different vendors, it is a serum you brush on like mascara, and it makes the hair growth go faster. There are also “brow conditioners” now on the market, a simple Amazon search on “brows” will bring up countless products for your specific brow situation.
