Dunwoody High “Wet Wildcats” Shatter Records at High School State Swimming Championships!

Congratulations to the Wet Wildcats for a successful 1-5A State Swimming and Diving meet!

Emily Christensen (10th place), Abbey Yates (13th place) and Savannah Maddux (20th place) scored during the diving portion of the meet.  Tanner Elliot and Zach Humphries also dove for the Wet Wildcats.

For the boys, the Medley Relay of Christopher Thames, Nic Davis, Ben Reiter, and Shota Barbeau placed 18th.  Ben Reiter, Shota Barbeau, Liam Eastham, and Will Sheiner swam in the 200 Free relay and Eastham, Sheiner, Paul Joyce, and Thames competed in the 400 Free relay. Shota Barbeau swam the 50 free and Ben Reiter competed in the 100 fly and 100 breast.  Christopher Thames broke two school records while placing 10th in the 200 free and 4th in the 100 back.

On the girls side, Laura Spratling, Hannah Jane Robison, Allie Reiter, and Kaleigh McGrady combined to shatter a 1983 DHS record and place 2nd in the 400 free relay.  The same four girls also lowered their 200 medley relay standard and placed 5th.  Jessica Wurst, Emma Wulff, Haley Pierce, and Claire Tannen competed in the 200 free relay.  In the individual events, Allie Reiter placed 2nd in the 100 breast in an All-American consideration time and a new school record.  She also placed 7th in the 200 IM with another DHS record.  Laura Spratling placed 5th in the 100 free, lowering her school record from 2014.  She also placed 7th in the 50 free.  Kaleigh McGrady placed 15th in the 50 free and 14th in the 100 free.  Hannah Jane Robison placed 14th in the 100 fly and Emma Wulff placed 20th in the 100 breast. 

The girls team placed 4th in the 1-5A State Swimming and Diving meet, just one point shy of third place.  The DHS girls are the top 5A school in the State!
