Dear CMS community,
Our new interim Principal, Mrs. Patricia May, comes to us with 40 years of experience in the field of education, working with students and teachers in high school and middle school. She was a teacher and varsity track coach for 21 years, an assistant principal for 9 years, and a principal for 10 years. Mrs. May is a retired principal who loves people; especially her students and staff.
Mrs. May opened Lithonia Middle School as the Principal in 2003, and retired in 2010 with 37 ½ years of service. After retirement she was called to lead Cedar Grove Middle School, and remained there for 2 ½ years.
She has joined us at Chamblee Middle School until a new principal is appointed. Until then Mrs. May is very capable and willing to work hard and guide the staff and students in continuing to be successful as long as she is in the position.
She looks forward to meeting as many members of the Chamblee community as she possibly can in the time that she’s working at Chamblee Middle School, and wants you to know that the expectations will remain high for the students and staff of Chamblee Middle School.
