Sandy Springs City Council is placing a 60-day moratorium on permits for new apartments. The ban only applies to the city’s commercial zoning areas, also known as C1 and C2.
The moratorium comes as metro Atlanta sees thousands of apartment units enter the development pipeline — reflecting a national trend toward more rentership.
