Do you want the tallest suburban skyscraper in America built on the edge of Dunwoody/Sandy Springs?

Submitted by an Aha! Subscriber:

Please contact the Sandy Springs Mayor and/or City Council if you have an opinion about Hines (a developer) building 50- and 25-story towers on the small plot of land across from Costco and Dunwoody Self-Storage. This exception to traditional zoning would be 16 stories taller than the King and Queen buildings and would become the tallest suburban skyscraper in America. If approved, these buildings would bring 15,000 more cars down Mt Vernon, Peachtree Dunwoody, Barfield, and other roads every day. Plus, the addition of 500+ more apartments could impact local school capacity. The project also would set a 50-story height precedent for the 74-acre site that’s for sale much closer at Glenridge and Abernathy.

The Sandy Springs City Council likely will vote to approve the buildings at the meeting on Tuesday, July 15… unless they hear opposition from residents. Make sure your opinion is heard by contacting the Mayor and/or City Council members at http://www.sandyspringsga.gov/City-Government

  1. Is the Dunwoody Homeowner’s Association planning on taking this up? The DHA has taken stances & heard from developers outside the city limits in the past, and this has such a huge impact.
