Vanderlyn student and Murphey Candler baseball player Lani Tibbetts is traveling to Los Angeles this weekend to compete on the first ever National 10u All Girls All-Star team to compete in a USSSA tournament against boys teams. The team will play at Big League Dreams Park which features scaled down replicas of Major League ball parks, including Fenway Park & Wrigley Field.
The organization behind the team is Baseball for All and it’s founder Justine Siegal, the only women to ever pitch batting practice for a major league team and the only women to ever coach men’s professional baseball. Baseball for All is a 501c(3) that has a focus on providing meaningful opportunities in baseball, especially for girls.
