Peachtree Charter Middle School and Dunwoody High School will be raising money for the American Cancer Society in honor of former PCMS teacher Mr. Keith Davis who passed April 3, 2011. In the Dunwoody Daze this was said about Mr. Davis- “Throughout the years, Mr. Davis had a way of reaching ALL of his students, regardless of ability. He had a natural way of interacting with students that made him beloved by all who had the good fortune to be in his class.”
The spring concert will be held at PCMS at 7pm. There will be a pre-concert at 6pm by the Jazz Band and Percussion Ensemble. The concert is free. There will be meals available to purchase and a bake sale where all profits will go toward the American Cancer Society. We will also be taking donations. Our goal is to raise at least $2500 for ACS. If you want to honor Mr. Davis’ memory with a donation and are unable to attend the concert, please contact Stephanie Holmes at holmes.sc74@gmail.com for information on how to make a donation.
Last year the concert benefited Make-A-Wish in honor of former PCMS and DHS student Blake Kuller and about $1500 was raised. PCMS Band Directors wish to continue this tradition of focusing our spring concert as a benefit concert for worthy causes and outstanding people such as Blake Kuller and Mr.Keith Davis.
Mr. Davis was often quoted as saying, “I love Mondays and I hate Fridays. They pay me to come to meetings and take attendance. The rest I do for free.”
Please join us, Saturday May 7 at 6pm at PCMS for an outdoor concert and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
