Lemonade Days is a fund raiser for the Dunwoody Preservation Trust. It is an ole fashioned festival with carnival rides, a car show, food trucks, art and plant sales and a “Community Canvas” presented by Dunwoody Fine Art Assn. Those who walked by were encouraged to “Come paint!” There were those timid about their marks at first but who relaxed as they began to put some color on the canvas. One grandpa helped his grandson see the blue paint turn into a dolphin. Another child painted, “snow, snow, snow” while others added spiders and ants with crowns and yet another handicapped girl, Brittany Campbell said she was so happy to find something she could even do at Lemonade Days and how she used to do this at her special school. Creativity evolves when one idea leads to another. This was a delight to observe in the activity of the “Community Canvas” which will be displayed in the area.
