Dunwoody Community Garden & Dunwoody Fine Arts Association Collaborate for a Plant Sale/Art Exhibit at 2014 Lemonade Days

ATLANTA, Georgia (March 27, 2014) – The Dunwoody Community Garden (DCG) and the Dunwoody Fine Art Association will sell organic plants and exhibit art from local artists at Brook Run Park’s Greenhouse and Barn Complex (across from Skate Park) during the City of Dunwoody’s most anticipated annual event, Lemonade Days.

 

Dunwoody Community Garden and Orchard (DCGO) Plant Sale will feature a wide variety of hard to find, organically grown heirloom tomatoes, vegetables and annual/perennial flowers. Prices range from $1 and up, only cash is accepted. The plant sale will begin Friday, April 25th through Sunday, April 27th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. DCGO is a non-profit organization and grows organic plants year-round in its own greenhouses to support the cost of operation. Committed to giving back to the community, over 20% of the garden is devoted to growing food for charitable organizations.

Dunwoody Fine Art Association will display paintings by local, award winning artists who have sold in galleries, juried shows, and events April 25-27 from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. The artists look forward to the opportunity to display and sell their works in the Barn area during Lemonade Days. “This year, we are excited to present “A Community Canvas” an interactive work of art where the public is invited to express themselves” said Julie Marshall. A large canvas will hang on the barn’s fence and everyone is invited to pick up a painting utensil, some color and channel their inner Picasso.  A Community Canvas will begin Saturday, April 26th at 10:00 AM and the last stroke will be made on Sunday, April 27th at 5:00 PM. Join in and watch the painting take shape. Once completed, the Dunwoody Fine Art Association will select a local Dunwoody location where it will be displayed.

About Lemonade Days

 

Each year, the Dunwoody Preservation Trust (DPT) hosts this much-anticipated event, Lemonade Days, its annual fund raising event for various preservation projects in Dunwoody. Lemonade Days 2014 will feature outdoor activities including amusement park rides, games, live music, craft fair, food and many other activities.

 

Lemonade Days 2014 begins Wednesday, April 23rd at 4:00 PM and ends Sunday, April 27th at 5:30pm at Brook Run Park. Admission is FREE and open to the public. Some events require a purchased ticket. Brook Run Park is located at 4770 North Peachtree Road in Dunwoody, GA 30338.
